Title Motion to Procure Design Services for Casey Phase IIA Drainage Improvements from Thomas and Hutton Engineering Co. (Event No. 4935)
Description Recommend approval to procure design services from Thomas & Hutton Engineering Co. in the amount of $1,476,400.00. The design services will be used by the Stormwater Department to improve and upgrade the stormwater drainage system. The goal of Phase IIA of the Casey Drainage Improvement Project is to provide stormwater drainage system upgrades to accommodate a 100-year storm flood event in the area roughly bounded by 55th Street to the north, Harmon Drive to the east, 63rd Street to the south, and Abercorn Street to the west. It will accomplish this through a series of stormwater lines that run north on Abercorn and Habersham streets, east on Columbus Drive, north on Atlantic Avenue, and east on 56th Street to tie in to the Harmon Drive box culvert installed during Phase I of the Case Drainage Improvement Project. This phase of the project will also include Low Impact Development/Green Infrastructure components to enhance the community while providing stormwater quality improvements. The MWBE goal for this project was 13% (7% MBE and 6% WBE). The recommended proposer submitted 13% MWBE participation.
