Description This contract is for the procurement of one (1) rough terrain forklift with Low County JCB Inc. in the amount of $102,400. The Recycling & Litter Services Division's new forklift will replace forklift units #7741 and #7742, which have exceeded their useful life and are no longer economically viable to maintain, and will be used for handling tires, loading and unloading refuse carts, recycle carts, commercial containers, and deliveries to the facility. Only one forklift will be purchased to replace the two forklifts because Sanitation operations have been consolidated into one location, thus voiding the need for two forklifts.
Cooperative purchasing is authorized as an appropriate procurement method in Division 10 Section 2-4152 of the City of Savannah’s Purchasing Ordinance. The Sourcewell contract used for this procurement is JCB Inc., contract #040319-JCB for the procurement of medium-duty and compact construction equipment with related attachments, accessories, and supplies, which will expire on May 31, 2024.
