Description

Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 2 in the amount of $200,000 and the annual contract renewal (FY2021) for up to $850,000 for heavy equipment rentals with Savannah River Utilities (D).

The original contract was for the rental of heavy-duty equipment needed for the Sanitation Department to perform central operations at the landfill when City-owned machinery and equipment is down for service or repair.

This modification is necessary for the equipment rentals that are needed to provide compliance at the landfill while the City is waiting for newly ordered equipment to arrive.

The original contract was approved by Council on August 29, 2019 in the amount of $300,000.  Contract No. 1 in the amount of $550,000 was approved by Council on February 13, 2020. The total amount of the contract to date, including both modifications and the annual renewal is $1,050,000.
