Title 20. Motion to Award Construction Contract for Miscellaneous Water Lines to McLendon Enterprises, Inc. (Event No. 6098) | |

Description Recommend approval to award a construction contract for miscellaneous water lines to McLendon Enterprises, Inc. in the amount of $1,723,535.84. The Public Works and Water Resources Department will use these services to remove 1,200 linear feet of pipeline and replace it with a new water line at Perry Street in Aldermanic District 2, and a 1,400-foot water line at Washington Avenue in Aldermanic District 4. Due to the nature of the existing water line this will improve domestic and fire services as well as hydraulic efficiency in the area. Four contractors were pre-qualified to submit bids for this project. One bid was received. The project included an overall DBE goal of 18%. The recommended bidder submitted participation in the amount of 18%, using the following contractors: Edwards Construction Group in the amount of 8.04%; Sabe, Inc. in the amount of 3.11%; Frankie Thompson Enterprise in the amount of 3.48%; and Blue, Inc. in the amount of 3.37%. | |
