Strategic Priority Good Government
Description This is for contract modification no. 1 and renewal of Security services with G11 Security, Inc. (D) not to exceed $37,405 for City Cemeteries. Security services are used in municipal cemeteries to protect visitors and assets by mitigating the risks of various crimes and violations. Security services provide several benefits to the municipal cemeteries including, but not limited to, crime prevention and reporting, protection of assets, ordinance and cemetery rules compliance, and customer service. The municipal cemeteries are highly visited historic sites. Therefore, a security presence must be maintained to provide a safe environment for the public, as well as protect our historical and cultural assets.
Security services typically include a roving patrol throughout Bonaventure Cemetery and a walking patrol in Colonial Park Cemetery. This year, services will be expanded to include the opening and closing of all of our cemetery gates at Bonaventure, Colonial Park, Greenwich, Laurel Grove North, & Laurel Grove South cemeteries. This is to alleviate employee overtime expenditures and allowing weekend and holiday time off for on-call cemeteries employees. This increase also factors in a vendor requested hourly pay rate increase for services rendered. Other security services may be provided on an as-needed basis.
The costs will increase by $16,903.96 for the additional opening and closing of all City cemetery gates during weekends and holidays. This increase also factors in a vendor requested hourly pay rate increase for services rendered. This contract was approved as a small purchase in the amount of $20,501 on May 20, 2021.
