30. Motion to Award Annual Contract for Environmental Compliance Services for the Dean Forest Road Landfill to Atlantic Coast Consulting, Inc. (Event No. 6411)
This annual contract is for environmental compliance services to Atlantic Coast Consulting, Inc. in the estimated amount of $65,000.00. The Sanitation Department will use this contract to provide monitoring, reporting, and environmental compliance management for the Dean Forest Landfill. These services will ensure that the landfill remains in compliance with applicable state and federal guidelines, which include the facility’s existing permits.
The Dean Forest Road Disposal Facility, located at 1327 Dean Forest Road, is utilized for most of the City of Savannah's residential and commercial refuse collections as a final destination for waste. This fall the City awarded a $27.5 million contract to expand the Dean Forest facility, which will provide an additional 2.8 million cubic yards of landfill space, extending the life of the landfill by an estimated 13.67 years.
The method of procurement used for the environmental compliance services contract was the request for proposal (RFP), which evaluates criteria in addition to cost. The criteria evaluated for this RFP were qualifications and experiences, technical capabilities, references, local vendor participation, and fees.
This project was not identified as an SBE project because the requirement of three certified SBEs could not be met at the time this bid was released.
The contract term shall be from January 3, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
