Description Recommend approval to award a construction services contract for the rehabilitation of two of the President Street sand filters to Southern Civil for up to $800,000.00. Currently, the department has two sand filters that have been in operation since 1994 and are now in need of rehabilitation. The sand filters are a tertiary treatment process composed of sand or a granular material used to polish the effluent prior to distribution to the three City golf courses. The current bid amount is $746,248.00, however if the department is unable to sustain the need for water from the three golf courses with only one filter in operation, the department will be forced to rent a unit in the amount of $8,000/wk, until the work is completed.
