Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for the City’s employee assistance program (EAP) with Deer Oaks EAP Services, LLC in the estimated amount of $45,600. The EAP is intended to help eligible employees and eligible family members deal with personal issues, concerns or needs related to employment, marriage, families, substance abuse, stress, grief or other related matters that might adversely impact their work performance, health and/or well-being. The program provides 24/7 access and employees can opt to receive in-person or virtual assistance to include: short-term counseling, referrals to local community resources and/or support groups, virtual group counseling, legal services, on-line will preparation, financial counseling and education, daily living and convenience services, etc. The EAP also includes Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD). This program is necessary to help reduce absenteeism, workers' compensation claims, health care costs, accidents and grievances. In addition, it can address safety and security issues, improve employee productivity and engagement, and reduce costs related to employee turnover. The contract was originally bid and approved by Council on October 26, 2017. This contract expires December 31, 2022 and has no renewal options available.
