This is for Contract Modification No. 2 and Renewal for Urban Planning/Design and Architectural Support with Sottile and Sottile in the amount not to exceed $350,000.

This contract will be used by City staff to assist with urban planning and is not a contract for architectural design and plan preparation services. The urban planning/design services will include land use analysis, preparation of master plans and redevelopment strategies, assessment and preparation of design guidelines, and development regulations focusing on Smart Growth Principles. The architectural support portion of the contract will include assistance with preparing requests for proposals for architectural design services, reviewing architectural plans and construction documents, reviewing existing conditions and facility assessment reports, and analyzing the City’s needs to identify the scope of work to be designed. Services will also include public engagement with key stakeholders, residents, and elected officials. Additional services included in Modification No. 1 identified redevelopment strategies, providing cost-benefit analysis, producing conceptual designs including renderings and presentations, documenting existing conditions performing historical research, providing construction cost estimates, and estimating project schedules. Staff is requesting an additional $200,000 for this modification in order to support the Civic Center redevelopment, River Street improvements, and other City projects.

This contract was originally approved by Council on December 20, 2022, in the amount of $100,000.  On October 9, 2024, Contract Modification No. 1 was approved by the City Manager in the amount of $50,000. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $350,000.
