Title 36. Motion to Accept and Award National Dislocated Worker Grant in the Amount of $190,000.
Description The City of Savannah has received an additional “Statement of Grant Award” for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act National Dislocated Worker Grant (NDWG) Program from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Workforce Division in the amount of $190,000.00. These funds will be used to cover associated costs and provide compensation to the temporary workers who are providing assistance in the clean-up and recovery efforts in Camden County, which was affected by Hurricane Irma on September 8, 2017. The grant period is from September 25, 2017 through September 30, 2018. The Coastal Workforce Development Board is now seeking authorization for approval to accept the grant award and modify the Business Services Support & Compliance contract with Ross IES, INC in the amount of $190,000.00. Pursuant to the Coastal Workforce Services Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region, and as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funds and enter into grant administration agreements with sub-recipients is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures.
