35. Authorize the City Manager to Accept the FY2023 Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Grant Award Transferring Dislocated Worker Funds to the Adult Funding Stream in the amount $225,000. The award will be used to provide training and supportive services to adults who are unemployed or underemployed from November 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023. The City serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region.

Description

The City of Savannah has received a “Statement of Grant Award” for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act FY2022 Dislocated Worker program funds from the Technical College System of Georgia, Office of Workforce Development (TCSG-OWD) in the amount of $225,000. These funds have been transferred from the previously awarded FY2022 Dislocated Worker funding stream to the FY2022 Adult funding stream and are to be spent on adult activities for the unemployed or underemployed.

Pursuant to the WorkSource Coastal Consortium Agreement, the City of Savannah serves as the fiduciary agent for the 10-county region, and as such, City Council approval and authorization for the City Manager to receive grant funding and enter into grant administration agreements is necessary in accordance with the City of Savannah's procurement policies and procedures.
