Description The petitioner is requesting approval of a Special Use Permit to establish a restaurant with onsite consumption of alcohol (File No. 004426-ZA) at 12500 Apache Avenue. This petition accompanies the request to rezone the property from RSF-E (Residential Single Family-Estate) to B-M (Maritime-Business) (File No. 22-004424-ZA). The Zoning Ordinance requires a Special Use Permit for a restaurant with on premises consumption of alcohol within the B-M district.
The parcel is located off Apache Avenue and is approximately 2.08 acres with 271-feet of frontage along Apache Avenue. The area historically operated as a restaurant with a marina called “Bells Landing”. In February 2006, the restaurant and marina were destroyed by a fire. Two neighborhood meetings were convened by the petitioner. | |
Recommendation On December 20, 2022, the Planning Commission approved the Special Use Permit request at 12500 Apache Avenue for a restaurant with on premises consumption of alcohol within the B-M (Maritime-Business) zoning district under the following conditions:
