Under this Agreement, the Commission would partner with SEDA and Chatham County to construct a new signalized intersection on Gulfstream Road, in front of the main Gulfstream plant. A recently completed study showed that approximately 1/3 of the road’s traffic is coming to or leaving the airport terminal. This project will involve constructing a drive-through lane, a new signalized intersection, and additional pavement work on Gulfstream Road. It will provide enhanced access for vehicles visiting the airport terminal, Air Cargo Facilities, and other airport facilities. The Commission will be responsible for the lesser of $818,375.00 or 1/3 of the cost. In addition, approximately 500 additional feet of Gulfstream Road, between the taxiway bridge and the proposed intersection, was incorporated into this project to be repaved, increasing the Commission’s benefit.
