Description

As part of implementing a development impact fee program for the City of Savannah, the Mayor and Aldermen must first adopt the Capital Improvements Element (CIE) as an amendment to the Chatham County-Savannah Comprehensive Plan (Plan 2040).

The CIE document establishes projected needs for system improvements during a five-year planning horizon, a schedule of capital improvements that will meet the anticipated need for system improvements, and a description of anticipated funding sources for each required improvement, including but not limited to impact fees collected.  The CIE was submitted to the Coastal Regional Commission and reviewed by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to ensure compliance with the Development Impact Fee Act.

The CIE was accepted by the Planning Commission on February 7, 2023.
