This is for a construction contract to Griffin Contracting, Inc. for Tremont Road Culvert Replacement project for canal drainage improvements in the amount of $1,348,488. The Stormwater Department will use these services to upgrade the existing undersized drainage infrastructure beneath Tremont Road. The project consists of replacing the existing drainage pipes under Tremont Road with a triple 10-foot by 5-foot reinforced concrete box culvert. The length of the proposed culvert has been increased to 61 linear feet to accommodate wider pavement shoulders and to allow for a future widening of Tremont Road. The box culvert will be founded on a geotextile fabric and 12 inches of stone bedding. The scope of work also includes cast-in-place concrete wingwalls and aprons. Utility conflicts will be addressed through the rerouting of existing sanitary sewer, water, gas, and data lines.  Additional improvements include the installation of new guardrails and slope stabilization measures utilizing riprap or concrete revetment fabric as appropriate. 

Construction Impacts: 

Tremont Road will be closed at the Musgrove Canal during construction. The construction duration is anticipated to be approximately 90 days. 

This project was competitively solicited and received three responses.  The responding vendors were:
