Description

The City will celebrate Arbor Day with a tree planting at the Juliette Low Elementary School on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 10:30am at 15 Blueridge Avenue. Members of City Council, the Park and Tree Commission, and City Urban Forestry Staff, will join with the Juliette Low Elementary School teachers and students for an Arbor Day celebration and Tree Planting ceremony on Friday, February 20th. The Arbor Day program will include a presentation of the City's Arbor Day Proclamation.

The City of Savannah has been named a Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation yearly since 1983 in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. This is in recognition of the City meeting the program's requirements, a tree board or department, a tree-care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of a minimum of $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance proclamation.
