Title 29. Notification of an Emergency Purchase for Centrifuge Repairs from GEA Mechanical Equipment in the Amount of $77,423. Services are needed for equipment used to ensure that sludge does not overrun storage capacity and the water treatment process is not disrupted or compromised. Description This is a notification of an emergency purchase for centrifuge repairs from GEA Mechanical Equipment in the amount of $77,423. The Industrial & Water Department’s twenty-year-old Westphalia Centrifuge yearly maintenance revealed that more repairs were needed to operate at full capacity. The centrifuge was completely disassembled to discover additional parts and service was required for continued reliability. The centrifuge is used to dewater 2800 tons of sludge removed yearly from the treatment process and hauled to the landfill to prevent discharge violations. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
