Description Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for protective coatings with Dun-Right Services in the estimated amount of $466,384.40. The protective will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department to provide protective coatings and sealants for utility holes and wet wells. The requirements include, but are not limited to, labor, materials, and equipment required for protecting and rehabilitating the interior of concrete sanitary sewer structures by application of a coating to protect the concrete structure from hydrogen sulfide acid generated by microbiological sources present in the municipal wastewater environment. The protective coatings also eliminate infiltration, repair voids, and enhance the structural integrity of the sanitary sewer structure. This project had an 18% DBE goal. Both bidders were deemed compliant to this goal. Though the recommended vendor did not have DBE participation, the recommended vendor was deemed to have demonstrated a good faith effort in obtaining DBE participation. This contract was originally approved by Council on August 16, 2018. This is the second of two renewal options available. The contract term shall be January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020. | |
