Title 17. Approval of a License and Access Agreement with Georgia Environmental Protection Division
Strategic Priority Good Government
Description The State of Georgia Environmental Protect Division (“EPD”) has an air quality testing station (“Station”) located on City property at the southeast corner of Augusta Avenue and Old West Lathrop Avenue in West Savannah. This City property is home to a well site and a fire station. The Station monitors air quality in the area. EPD has requested a license agreement to relocate and modernize the Station. The proposed new Station will consist of a small fenced-in grassy area to be improved with a 12’ x 12’ shed structure housing the testing equipment. EPD agrees to maintain the facility and provide and pay for all utility related costs. The license period will be for five years, with three options to renew for additional five-year terms. There is no license fee involved, as EPD is providing a beneficial public service to the City with this Station. The license may be terminated by either party with six months advance notice. The agreement has been reviewed and approved by the Real Estate Services Department, the Water and Sewer Department, and the Fire Department. Recommend approval of this License and Access Agreement, and authorization for the City Manager to sign.
