This change order pertains to the work related to the for the Air Cargo Apron Project. Major work items included in the change order were additional slab repairs on Taxiway “A” and unforeseen soil conditions, which necessitated additional soil undercutting and base material prior to placing the concrete ramp. The work is reimbursable by the FAA as it is less than 15 percent overrun of an FAA AIP grant. 

This project was originally approved by Council on April 30, 2020. The original scope of the project included the construction of a new Air Cargo Apron to service a new Air Cargo Facility located on the north side of Gulfstream Road within the northwest quadrant of the airfield. The project includes approximately 105,426 sq. yards of concrete ramp. The apron was designed for multiple aircrafts and tenants serving the new Air Cargo Facility.
