Recommend approval to award an annual contract for crane and hoist maintenance to Royal Arc Services in the amount of $34,820.00.  

The contract will be used by the Water Reclamation, Industrial and Domestic Water, Lift Station Maintenance, and Stormwater Departments for inspections, maintenance, and repair services of existing cranes.  The cranes are used to lift heavy equipment and supplies for the various departments. The maintenance associated with cranes and hoists is vital for both continued maintenance of heavy equipment at the various locations, but also for the safety within the various departments at the various locations.  

Upon review of the bids submitted, it was deemed that the apparent low bidder was non-responsive, as the vendor submitted a per-day cost for bucket truck rental as opposed to a per-hour cost as called for in the specifications.  Therefore, the contract is being recommended for award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The contract term will be from August 3, 2017 through December 31, 2017
