Title 10. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract with Georgia Power to Repair Switches at the President Street Plant in the Amount of $113,714.29 (Event No. 7360)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Georgia Power to repair switches at the President Street plant in the amount of $113,714.29. Due to the nature, scope, and high voltage associated with this project, the work falls outside the department’s purview. The Public Works and Water Resources Department is contracting with Georgia Power in conjunction with the work they are responsible for on their side. Performing the work concurrently allows the plant to be removed from utility power once in lieu of rescheduling work for a later date. Work to be performed would include replacement of two 4.16 KV 2000 A switches, replacement of 6-4.16 kV substation lightning arresters, and replacement of 2 runs of 4.16 KV cables, approximately 300 feet total.
