| Description The ordinance will impose a temporary moratorium on development and conversion activity for data centers with an electrical capacity of 10 megawatts or greater and prohibiting the conversion of warehouses and large industrial buildings of 200,000 square feet or more to data center use within the City of Savannah. The proposed moratorium is 155 days with an option to extend if needed. During this time, City staff will undertake a comprehensive study of the infrastructure capacity, zoning classifications, site development standards, and comprehensive plan amendments necessary to accommodate large-scale data center development while protecting public health, safety, and welfare. | |
