Description This is a resolution authorizing the Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. (CHSA) to use up to $2,500,000 from the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) and up to $500,000 from CHSA to facilitate the development of up to 50 permanent supportive housing cottages and a resident services building for persons experiencing homelessness. The location of 38 cottages and the resident services building will be on property currently owned by the City that fronts Dundee Street to be known as Dundee Cottages. The other 12 cottages will be located at the Cove at Dundee, adjoining Dundee Cottages, that is owned by the Chatham Savannah Authority for the Homeless (CSAH). Development of the cottages and resident services building is expected to be complete and ready for occupancy by July 2023. When all construction is complete, both sites will provide homes and supportive services for 84 households experiencing homelessness. During development, CHSA and CSAH will be securing permanent investments to replace much of the SAHF investment. | |
