Description

This is for an annual contract to purchase One-Ton Chlorine Cylinders with JCI Jones Chemical, Inc. in an amount not to exceed  $263,250. The one-ton chlorine cylinders will be used by the Industrial and Domestic Water Department to disinfect drinking water and wastewater effluent. Since 1947, chlorine has been used for the disinfection of safe drinking water by reducing microbial contamination. The I & D sold 13.65 billion gallons of water in 2020; 13.80 billion gallons of water in 2021, and; 15.6 billion gallons are projected to be sold for 2022. Failure to disinfect the water will result in potential disease risk to the exposed population, contamination for irrigation purposes, streams, and consumption from the tap.

 

The contract was re-bided due to safety precautionary concerns staff was having with the vendor. This proposal was advertised, opened, and reviewed. This contract has (4) four renewal options. Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: As needed
