Description The petitioner, Andre Gadson on behalf of Eco Friendly Contracting, LLC, is requesting a Special Use Permit for an event venue for the 1.76 acre property located at 1600 Staley Avenue (PIN 20642 01048). The property is zoned B-L (Limited Business) and requires a Special Use Permit for this type of use. The property includes a 4,544 square foot multi-purpose building with associated outdoor storage, initially built in 1965. In 2018, the petitioner and current owner acquired the property and currently uses the property as an office and church.
While surrounded by residential zoning, the development pattern along Staley Avenue is a mixture of large lot residential uses and commercial/light-industrial uses. Additionally, the subject property is buffered by vegetation on each side. If approved, the petitioner will have to secure a second Special Use Permit for the ability to serve alcohol on premises as well as an alcoholic beverage licenses. | |
Recommendation On July 25, 2023, the Planning Commission approved the petition of Andre Gadson on behalf of Eco Friendly Contracting, LLC, for a Special Use Permit for an event venue at 1600 Staley Avenue (PIN 20642 01048) under these conditions:
