This contract is for the procurement of seven bypass pumps from Mersino Dewatering, Inc., dba Global Pumps, in the amount of $415,088. The bypass pumps will be used by the City’s Sewer Maintenance Division in situations that require heavy-duty pumping of sewage and other liquids containing solids. Common uses include temporary sewage bypass during repairs or maintenance of sewer lines or lift stations, as well as emergency responses such as sewer backups. In these situations, the pumps help prevent overflows and contamination, ensuring uninterrupted service and protecting public health. These new units will replace bypass pumps No. 9816, No. 9818, No. 0808, No. 2848, No. 2849, No. 2847, and No. 5802, which are scheduled for replacement under the FY25 equipment replacement plan.  

This purchase will be made through a cooperative purchasing agreement. Per Section 2-4152 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is Sourcewell contract No. FSA23-EQ21.0, which is set to expire, September 30, 2025.
