Title Motion to Procure e911 VIPER System Upgrade from AT&T (Event No. 5111)
Description Recommend approval to procure upgrades to the e911 VIPER system from AT&T in the amount of $392,163.00. The e911 VIPER system manages calls into the 911 Center. The VIPER system associates automated name identification and automated location information to the incoming number to assist with dispatch functions. The existing VIPER system was last upgraded in 2011, and is now due for another upgrade. This upgrade will allow calls to be answered in both the primary and backup e911 Centers at the same time, effectively adding more capacity to answer e911 calls. This upgrade will also add the “text-to-911” functionality to allow the e911 Center to receive text messages, as well as voice calls.
