32. Motion to Award Construction Contract for Robinson Garage Elevator Modernization to Johnson-Laux Construction (Event No. 7061)
Strategic Priority

Recommend approval to award a construction contract for the Robinson Garage Elevator Modernization to Johnson-Laux Construction in the amount of $338,270.59.

The State of Georgia’s job order contractor will be used to perform this project to meet time constraints and City ordinance requirements. The State of Georgia’s job order contract is considered a convenience contract that is available for use by all State, City, and County public entities. The purpose of this contract is to provide multi-traded general construction services to accomplish small to medium sized projects for repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation, and minor new construction to infrastructure, buildings, structures, or other real property. The State of Georgia used a competitive bidding procedure to select Johnson-Laux Construction to serve as the sole provider of these services for this region.

This event had an 8% LDBE goal.  The recommended proposer submitted LDBE participation at the prime level in the amount of 10%.
