| Title 30. Resolution in Support of the City of Savannah's Celebration of the United States of America's 250th Anniversary. (Municipal Archives) | |
| Strategic Priority N/A | |
| Description The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776, the date on which the United States of America’s independence is annually observed. On July 4, 2026, the United States will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. Local communities are encouraged to plan and celebrate throughout 2026 with events to educate and honor this achievement and its ongoing positive effects in the world. In recognition of this important milestone, the City of Savannah will join communities across Chatham County, Georgia, and the nation in commemorating and celebrating the 250th anniversary. Through this resolution, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah will appoint the Mayor and/or his designees, to work with the City Manager and his staff, along with community partners, to develop a plan to commemorate and celebrate the United States of America’s 250th anniversary. | |
