Description

This is for a contract to provide instructional classes for child development associate program participants with Summit Training Specialist LLC in an amount up to $44,000. This contract will provide four (4) instructional units annually to child development associate program participants. The three-month credentialing program will prepare up to 160 early childhood workers for the Child Development Associate National Credential issued by the Council for professional recognition at a cost of approximately $625 per participant. Successful participants will complete 120 hours of training, a CDA Portfolio/Resource File, a classroom observation, and the national exam. Participants who successfully complete the certification program are qualified for employment as assistants and leaders in childcare centers. Employing qualified and well-trained teachers is a best practice used by credentialed experts in early education to determine Georgia Quality-Rated status. Approval of this contract will assist the City in reaching its goal to “Increase Quality-Rated daycare providers and access to daycare” as outlined in the Racial Equity and Leadership Report. The program will be managed by the City’s Human Services Department.

This is an annual contract with one annual renewal option available. The method used for this procurement was the request for proposals (RFP), which evaluates criteria in addition to cost. The proposals were evaluated on the basis of the Proposer’s qualifications and experience, including support capabilities, technical capabilities, references, fee proposals, and DBE participation.

Three proposals were received in response to this RFP and were reviewed and fully evaluated by a selection committee of City staff.
