This contract is for the rental of four (4) vehicles from Premier Truck Rental in the amount of $64,621. Water Distribution was facing a significant shortage of vehicles essential for the efficient delivery of field services to residents and customers. To ensure uninterrupted service delivery and mitigate any potential utility service disruptions, the City leased four vehicles for the Water Distribution Department in October 2023. With the growing demands upon our water distribution infrastructure, having the necessary vehicles enabled us to respond promptly to customer service requests and work orders related to the water distribution system.

The City's current vehicle fleet is aging, as a result, maintenance and repair issues are more frequent resulting in the interruption of vehicle availability. By supplementing the City's fleet with leased vehicles as in this case, staff were able to alleviate the availability issues of the existing, aging vehicles thereby enabling the City to delay the purchase of new vehicles until capital funding and vehicle delivery could be enacted. The appropriation of this funding is critical to maintaining operational continuity and addressing the needs of customers. Delivery: As requested. Terms: Net 30 days.
