Notification of emergency procurement of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) services from Layer 3 in the amount of $54,581.98. 

These services were used by the Department of Information Technology to provide 24/7/365 monitoring of activity on servers in the City’s network to proactively alert of non-complying actions or activities.  Malicious activity that is detected would be shut down immediately to minimize spread within the network.  This service augments existing security measures already implemented on the network. 

This vendor was selected due to its immediate availability, its ability to provide the necessary software, and the fact that it holds the current contract for managed network services, and is currently providing SIEM services for external firewalls and network switches.
