Airfield Operations continually rebuilds taxiway lighting circuits as part of an overall multi-year airfield lighting maintenance program.  The North Taxiway “Alpha” edge light and terminal ramp circuit was last replaced in 1999, and is the last circuit to be completed in the current replacement program cycle. The upgraded LED fixtures are compliant with FAA Airport Certification standards and have a useful life of over 100,000 hours versus incandescent fixtures with an average useful life of 2,500 hours. Allen Enterprises is a sole-source provider, and government approved sole source contractor of the ADB SafeGate light fixture and connection kits, which are currently in use on the airfield taxiway lighting system.
