Description

Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 1 for up to $100,000 and the annual contract renewal (FY2022) for up to $350,000 for lot clearing to Beers Housing, Inc. (608 Mauldin Drive, Woodstock, GA)(D).

The Code Compliance Department reached the original spending limit of $250,000 at the end of September 2021 with several more months of the growing season remaining this year. Increasing the spending limit and renewing this contract will allow the Code Compliance Department to cut and clean lots when property owners fail to respond to Notices of Violations. Lot clearing includes mowing, cutting, removing and properly disposing of all vegetation and debris, including such items as appliances, furniture, household items, tires, discarded construction or building materials, and other discarded debris in violation of the City code.

The method used for this procurement was the Bid for an annual contract with three additional twelve-month renewal options. The original contract term is from June 21, 2019, through December 31, 2020. This is the second contract renewal. The contract term will expire on December 31, 2022.

The original contract was approved by Council on June 20, 2019, in the amount of $120,000. On September 24, 2020, City Council approved the renewal contract for an amount up to $250,000. Contract modification No. 1 would raise the amount of the renewal contract from $250,000 to $350,000.
