31. Approval to Accept a $1,500 Sponsorship of the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center's Community Garden by Center Parc Credit Union

Description

The City of Savannah's Municipal Sponsorship Ordinance (Section 2-4172) allows for City facilities, programs, services, and property to solicit and review sponsorship opportunities as a mean to enhance or offset the cost of City services.

The City of Savannah's Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center's Community Garden (PARC) has a sponsorship opportunity in accordance with the Municipal Sponsorship Ordinance (Sec. 2-4172). The sponsorship would provide $1,500 to the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center to enhance or offset the services they currently provide.

The sponsorship is proposed by Center Parc Credit Union, who is a community-based credit union. Parc Credit Union is based out of Atlanta, Georgia and has recently opened a new branch in Savannah located at 6000 Ogeechee Road.

The sponsorship agreement would require the City to do the following:

  1. Display branded signage provided by the Sponsor at the Community Garden site,
  2. Recognize the Sponsor as a supporter within City social media and website platforms,
  3. Coordinate a giant check presentation at the garden within 4 weeks of award,
  4. Provide a garden update on the garden's growth, community impact, to include pictures within 6 months of award,
  5. Share point of contact for City's public information coordinator,
  6. Ensure photos and/or other media can be shared or has proper consent, and
  7. Allow the Sponsor to promote garden and share City logo.

Sponsor will:

  1. Pay City of Savannah $1,500 within 30 days of the acceptance of the sponsorship by City Council,
  2. Sponsor may provide volunteer help with maintaining and promoting the garden, and
  3. Sponsor may increase awareness of the Garden by promoting publicity of the site.

This sponsorship opportunity will remain active for 6 months beginning the day the Sponsor's sign is erected on the garden site.

The sponsorship funds will be use directly by the Pennsylvania Avenue Resource Center to enhance the services, facility, and/or community gardens.
