Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for HVAC maintenance for Water Treatment Facilities with Boaen Mechanical Services, Inc. in the estimated amount of $75,000.00.  The services will be used by the Public Works and Water Resources Department to maintain the HVAC systems in those facilities.  At the time of award, the City of Savannah’s Purchasing Ordinance stated: "in the event a local vendor submits a bid that is within 2% of the low bid submitted by a non-local vendor, the local vendor shall be afforded the opportunity to match the non-local low bidder’s pricing."  The original low bidder was Southern Atlantic Mechanical in the amount of $63,948.00.  Boaen Mechanical Services, Inc.’s original bid was $64,581.02.  Since Boaen Mechanical Services, Inc.’s original bid was within 2% of the low bid, it was offered the opportunity to match the low bidder’s pricing.  Boaen Mechanical Services, Inc. agreed to match the low bidder’s pricing. 

Bids were originally received on February 21, 2017.  Council originally approved this contract on May 25, 2017 in the amount of $63,948.00.  This is the second of three renewal options available.

The contract term shall be from May 9, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
