Description

This is for contract modification no. 1 for aluminum sulfate with Chemtrade Chemicals US, LLC in an amount not to exceed $325,400. This modification will ensure an adequate supply of aluminum sulfate is maintained as it is an integral part of the sludge treatment process. Aluminum sulfate specifically, is used for coagulation and removal of solids in the incoming raw water before sedimentation. Aluminum sulfate usage is based on two variables: fluctuating raw water quality and industrial customer demands.

Aluminum sulfate has been used in process control since the Industrial & Domestic (I&D) plant began to operate in 1948. This action helps accomplish the City's goal of providing safe drinking water to citizens, water that meets industry standards for its processes, and meets regulatory requirements. Unintended consequences of not having sufficient aluminum sulfate would be a failure to produce finished water suitable for industrial and domestic customer bases. The original contract was approved by the City Council on February 23, 2023, in the amount of $800,000. Terms: Net 30 days. Delivery: As requested.

The vendor is:

Chemtrade Chemicals USA, LLC (211 Brampton Rd, Savannah, GA)(B)  $1,125,400

(B) Indicates local, non-dbe-owned business.
