Description

Notification of an emergency purchase for one Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) diesel engine generator from W. W. Williams Company in an amount not to exceed $205,981. The Industrial and Domestic (I&D) Water Treatment Plant is requesting approval to replace one (1) of the four (4) generators that have failed, resulting in no redundancy and thereby compromising I&D’s Plants’ ability to ensure continuing reliability in the event of loss of power. The I&D Water Plant has evolved as a regional water provider in addition to the original industrial customer base which has increased consumption to 40 to 45 million gallons of water a day and mandated groundwater wells reductions. The I&D Plant is now wholesaling water to all municipal entities within Chatham County and to Effingham County. Restoring redundancy in auxiliary power is critical for drinking water and fire protection. Delivery: Immediately. Terms: Net 30 days.
