Description

Notification of Contract Amendment No. 2 for President Street Bio-Solids Facility to Reynolds Construction in the amount of $850,000.

The original contract was for two new belt filter presses, a live-bottom wet cake storage hopper, a low-temperature belt dryer, a pellet mill and cooler, a finished product storage silo, and a pull-through truck scale.  Ancillary systems provided include wet and dry material conveyance, silo monitoring and safety, dust control, and electrical power and controls.  The amendment will include the design and construction of the odor-control system for the facility suitable for ongoing use.  The odor control system is a two-stage chemical scrubber made from fiberglass reinforced plastic which includes a mist eliminator for each stage, blower, supply and interconnecting ductwork, chemical recirculation system, and instrumentation and local control panel. 

The original contract was approved by Council November 10, 2016 in the amount of $20,485,800.  The total amount of the contract to date, including this modification, is $21,335,800, representing a 4% increase.
