30. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for Traffic Management Control Services with Area Wide Protection Services, Inc. (LOCAL) not to Exceed $960,000 for Several Departments Including, but Not Limited to, the Traffic Department, the Special Events Film and Tourism Department, the Arena, and the Civic Center. This contract will include traffic control for large events. (Real Estate)

Description

This contract is to procure services that provide traffic management to federal, state, and local governments from Area Wide Protection Services, Inc (AWP) not to exceed $960,000. The City of Savannah requires such services when managing high-volume traffic issues associated with large events (such as Arena, Civic Center, parades, and special events) and during road construction projects. Several departments will be accessing and using this contract including, but not limited to, the Traffic Department; the Special Events, Film, and Tourism Department; and the Arena and Civic Center Departments. 

The contract will expire on July 13, 2023, and has four (4) one (1) year renewal options available. Per Section 2-4152 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is a Sandy Springs, GA contract for Traffic Signs Maintenance and Emergency Road Closure Services (Contract # 19-034). It was competitively bid by the City of Sandy Springs, GA.
