| Description Recommend approval to award an annual contract for tactical vests to Dana Safety Supply Company in the estimated amount of $80,161.00. The Savannah Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team will use these vests for protective gear. The SWAT Team is one of the largest special duty teams dedicated to addressing civil unrest while protecting the rights of all citizens to exercise their First Amendment rights. A recent assessment of readiness revealed the need for newer protective gear for the officers assigned for this duty. This procurement includes 30 new tactical vests with the option to purchase additional vests, as needed. This project was not identified as an SBE project because the requirement of three certified SBEs could not be met at the time this bid was released. The contract term shall be from February 14, 2019 through December 31, 2019. | |
