| Description This is a notification of the emergency procurement for two 550 horsepower Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) in the amount of $114,488.000. The Industrial and Domestic Plant used the VFDs to pump water and potable water to the major industries and the main groundwater system. The two variable frequency drives failed and were inoperable. For normal pumping capacity, all five pumps must be operational for the City’s high industrial demand. This was an emergency purchase because the plant serves as a regional water provider. If the pumps are out of service, the pumping capacity for fire protection, industrial and potable water would be compromised. E.P.
