Title
Motion to Adopt 2018 Savannah Affordable Housing Fund Policy Guidelines and Work Program
Description

The Savannah Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF), established and supported by the City since 2011, enables the City and its partners to address local housing needs and opportunities and to leverage significant private investment for affordable and workforce housing.  Each year, the Mayor and Aldermen adopt the SAHF Policy Guidelines and Work Program and authorize the City Manager to enter into an implementation agreement with nonprofit Community Housing Services Agency, Inc. (CHSA).

CHSA has helped the City administer the SAHF since its inception including marketing, attracting bank and business contributions to the fund and making loans to participants. CHSA has agreed to serve in this role in 2018 without cost to the SAHF. The SAHF Advisory Committee provides direction and the City’s Housing Department provides support to it and CHSA.  None of the funds invested in the SAHF are used to pay administrative costs.  The SAHF activities are consistent with and important to the City’s Strategic Plan priority of Neighborhood Revitalization and Goal 3.5: Access to Quality Housing.
