Keep Savannah Beautiful Executive Director, Carliss Bates, on behalf of the Sanitation Department, is pleased to announce the City of Savannah is the recipient of 7 awards for the 2019 Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards Program. Keep Georgia Beautiful is the state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and supports over 70 state affiliates (including Keep Savannah Beautiful) in their efforts to promote litter prevention, recycling, waste reduction and beautification. The awards were presented at the Annual Awards Luncheon in Atlanta on December 5. The awards conferred included:

  1. Liberty City Neighborhood Association, winner of the Overall Community Improvement Award: Nonprofit/Civic Group/Community Org
  2. Eastside Concerned Citizens, Inc. has won Distinguished Service/3rd Place for the State Award, Overall Community Improvement, Nonprofit/Civic Group
  3. Keep Savannah Beautiful, winner of the Affiliate Innovation Award: Innovative Program
  4. Keep Savannah Beautiful, winner of the KGBF Affiliate Award: Population 150,001-500,000
  5. Keep Savannah Beautiful has won 2nd Place for the Affiliate Innovation Award, Innovative Partnership
  6. Keep Savannah Beautiful has won the 2019 Governor’s Circle Award
  7. City of Savannah Sanitation Department, winner of the Overall Community Improvement: Government Agency
