Title
44. Approval of a Resolution Accepting a $15,000 Donation from St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems for the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund.
Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

Recommend approval of a resolution to accept a $15,000 donation from St. Joseph’s/Candler Health Systems (SJCHS) for deposit into the Savannah Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF) that supports workforce and affordable housing initiatives for modest wage SJCHS employees becoming first-time Savannah homeowners. These crucial investments provide tangible results for both SJCHS and the City of Savannah.

Over the last eight years, SJCHS has invested a total of $120,000 into the SAHF. This public/private partnership serves as an exemplary model for other Savannah area employers. None of the investments made into the SAHF by SJCHS and other investors are used for administrative costs. The City of Savannah Housing and Neighborhood Services Department and CHSA, a non-profit housing corporation, oversee and administer the SAHF.
