Recommend approval to procure one landfill bulldozer from Flint Equipment Company in the amount of $334,329.00.

The landfill bulldozer is used by the Refuse Disposal Department to spread, push and compact garbage dropped off at the Dean Forrest Landfill.  It also is used to spread soil cover over the garbage as required by state mandates and to compact the cover soil in order to reduce the potential for erosion. The landfill bulldozer is utilized seven days a week and is essential to the landfill operation.  Procurement of the landfill bulldozer will replace Unit 9702 that is on the 2017 Replacement list and was removed from service due to the extensive repair cost. Refuse Disposal is currently renting a bulldozer to use during the interim.

The total bid price of $334,329.00 includes a contracted five year maintenance agreement at a cost of $47,329.00. The maintenance agreement provides on-site service to ensure that equipment is properly serviced and maintained.
