Description

At the May 6, 2020 meeting, the Commission approved a COVID-19 Emergency Marketing Fund to stimulate air travel in partnership with Visit Savannah, Hilton Head Island Visitors Bureau, and the Golden Isles Visitors Bureau.  Those funds were utilized through a targeted digital campaign for Visit Savannah, components including both digital and print for HHI through Travel & Leisure, and a print and digital newsletter format for the Golden Isles through Travel & Leisure as well.  In July, Savannah Airport Commission gave direction to proceed on a second phase of COVID-19 Emergency Marketing to continue and promote air travel via Savannah/Hilton Head International.  We would like to recommend approval of up to $600,000 for phase two which will be utilized by Visit Savannah to continue their focused digital campaign, for additional targeted print and digital campaigns for Hilton Head Island, and to promote the Number One Island award from Travel & Leisure for the Golden Isles.  As with the first emergency marketing partnership, the campaigns will be focused on promoting air travel to our region through SAV.  In return for participating with the surge funding, the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport logo will be included in all advertising.
