Recommend approval to procure an additional one ton flat bed non-dumping truck from J.C. Lewis Ford in the amount of $34,170.00.  This truck will be used by the Traffic Engineering Department to pick up Type 1, 2 and 3 barricades, barrels, cones, etc. This truck will be used to replace Unit No. 8218, which was involved in a collision and is not cost effective to repair. 

J.C. Lewis Ford submitted a bid of $34,491.32, which was within both 2% and $500.00 of the responsive, non-local low bidder’s pricing. J.C. Lewis Ford was offered the opportunity to match the low bidder’s pricing, and agreed to match it.

Bids were originally received on January 30, 2018.  Council approved the original purchase on March 1, 2018.  Delivery: As requested.  Terms: Net 30 days.  Bidders were:
