Description

City staff is requesting a resolution authorizing the City Manager to submit two FY2019 HUD HOPWA Competitive Renewal grant applications.  The renewal grant applications total $921,208, and are submitted on behalf of the project sponsor, Union Mission, Inc.  

The first grant application in the amount of $671,776 is for ongoing funding support to continue providing permanent supportive housing at the Phoenix Place Community Residence and supportive services for HOPWA clients. 

The second grant application in the amount of $249,432 is for funding to continue providing and maintaining permanent supportive housing for the tenants of Daniel-Flagg Villas and mental health and substance abuse services for HOPWA clients. 

The grants will provide permanent supportive housing for low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS.
